Amman, Jordan – February 2014Nabil Foods, the most prominent name in the frozen food industry in Jordan and the region, recently announced the first class of graduates from its “Cooking and Kitchen Management” course. The course was organized by Nabil Foods in collaboration with Global Communities, based on a Memorandum of Understanding signed by both parties at the end of last year.

 

The graduation ceremony took place at the Nabil showroom, where the Dean of Jordan Applied University’s College of Hospitality and Tourism Education, Dr. MuhsenMakhamreh, handed out certificates to the participants. The ceremony was held in the presence of Nabil Foods Marketing Director, Farah Rassam;Senior Vice President of International Operations at Global Communities, Michel Holsten; Country Director of Global Communities in Jordan, Mr. Waleed Al Tarawneh;and Senior Technical Specialist of Economic Development at the headquarters office, Ms. Eileen Hoffman.

 

Rassamcongratulated the participants on their successful completion of the course, wishing them the best of luck in their future careers. Commenting on the occasion she said: “Through Nabil’s partnership with Global Communities, we have seized an ideal opportunity to support and empower the Jordanian youth by providing them with valuable knowledge and skills applicable to Jordan's continually developing food and hospitality industry. Thanks to our ongoing partnership, we look forward to continuing these specialized training sessions."

 

Nabil Foods hosts intensive courses in culinary arts and international cuisine at its Seventh Circle showroom under the supervision of Chef Nidal Al Burehi, in cooperation withJordan Applied University’s College of Hospitality and Tourism Education. These courses seek to elevate the knowledge, skills and professionalism of youth seeking employment in Jordan’s food and hospitality industry, providing participants with accredited certification upon completion of the training courses.

 

Global Communities, through its MENA YES Program, seeks to empower youth and enable them to enter the workforce, either as skilled laborers or entrepreneurs, providing them with the skills required to ensure their success.
